This privacy statement applies to the website of OWIC (hereinafter "OWIC" or "We"). In this statement we explain our general privacy policy, the purposes for which we process your personal data and your rights with regard to your personal data.

Who is responsible?

OWIC is responsible for processing your personal data. We are located at the address Nijenborgh 6, 9747 AG in Groningen. Our Chamber of Commerce number is 69200556.

What is our general privacy policy?

OWIC considers your privacy to be very important. This means that we will only process your data in accordance with privacy legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG).

We only use your data to communicate with you / to provide our service.

We do not sell, trade or share your data with third parties without your consent unless we are legally obliged to do so.

What is personal data?

If you visit our website, we may collect various personal data. Personal data is any information that can be traced back to a natural person.

What data do we process from you?

We only collect data that you provide to us yourself or that we receive via cookies.

You are not (legally) obliged to provide us with your personal data. If you want to use our services or if you contact us, we do need the requested data. We do not collect more data than necessary for these purposes.

When you contact us, for example by sending an e-mail, we store the following data about you: your name, e-mail address and other personal data you have provided, such as your telephone number. We only use this information to communicate with you, to answer your questions and / or to prepare a possible contract.

Do we also process special personal data?

We do not process special personal data, such as data relating to political opinions, religious beliefs or health.

How long do we keep your data?

Your data will not be stored longer than necessary for the purpose for which you provided it.

Do we share your data?

We will only share your data if this is necessary to communicate with you with parties that are part of our services or if we are legally obliged to share data.

If we share your data in order to provide our service, we will enter into processing agreements with these parties to protect your privacy.

With parties who store data outside the EU, we provide adequate safeguards. We only conclude agreements with these parties if the European Commission has decided that data transfer is safe (adequacy decision) or if similar measures have been taken to ensure that your data is also processed safely there.

How safe is your data?

OWIC considers the security of your data very important. We therefore take appropriate security measures to ensure that your data is not lost or accessible to unauthorised third parties. Some of these measures are listed below:

  • Our website is secured with an SSL certificate so that personal data is sent encrypted;
  • We have a strict access policy (need to know). Only authorised staff / third parties have access to your personal data;
  • We conclude agreements with third parties who process your personal data on our behalf.

What rights do you have?

You have several rights regarding your privacy:

  • Right of access;
  • Right of rectification;
  • Right to erasure (right to be forgotten);
  • Right to restriction of processing;
  • Right to transfer of data (data portability); and
  • Right of objection.

You can send requests/objections via our e-mail address. Please state "Personal data" in the subject line.

To ensure that the request/objection is made by you, we kindly ask you to send a copy of your ID along with your e-mail. Please make your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone), document number and citizen service number (BSN) black in this copy to protect your privacy. We will respond to your message as soon as possible.

If you have any complaints about how we handle your privacy, please let us know via our e-mail address. Ideally, we will come to a solution together. You are also free to file a complaint with the supervisory body, the Authority for Personal Data. This can be done via this link.

What happens in case of changes?

The privacy rules can change constantly. This means that this privacy declaration can be changed. Therefore, please check this statement regularly.

N.B. This statement is governed by Dutch law. This privacy statement is drawn up in Dutch and English. In the event of any discrepancy between these statements, the Dutch statement shall prevail.
